Welcome to MAKER 1881.

I thought that I should say a few words about the maker.  I and my family are actively involved in re-enactment, so historical accuracy is most important in the clothing we send out from here.

All of the items of clothing are researched and hand made by me the proprietor of Maker 1881.  After the successful completion of a three years course at the London College of Fashion, where I studied design, pattern construction, manufacturing methods and tailoring I worked in two top London fashion houses as design room manager and pattern technician. 

After a thorough grounding in clothing and costume manufacture, I now specialize in the manufacture of period costume.  Each item of clothing is made individually, so no two items are the same.  Thereby giving all of my customers the individual touch. 

When an individual order is placed that order will generally be despatched within 3 to 4 weeks, but a more accurate estimate will be given at point of order.
